About

Compliance-grade AML, free for the community

CryptoAML.ai is the public front-end of the @cryptoamlscan_bot Telegram service. The bot is used daily by exchanges, OTC desks and compliance teams. The web tool gives anyone — individuals included — instant access to the same risk database.

What CryptoAML.ai is

A no-registration web tool that runs an Anti-Money-Laundering check against any crypto wallet address. You paste an address, we return a 0–100 risk score and a breakdown across six categories: sanctions, darknet, mixers, ransomware, scams and exchange flags.

The basic check costs nothing. The deep audit — multi-hop tracing, counterparty graph, downloadable PDF — is delivered through the @cryptoamlscan_bot Telegram bot.

Data sources

Every risk verdict is built on independent, regulator-grade datasets:

  • OFAC SDN list — U.S. Treasury Specially Designated Nationals, refreshed every 24 hours.
  • UN Security Council, UK HM Treasury, Australian DFAT, Swiss SECO — full sanctions coverage outside the U.S.
  • FATF typologies — Recommendation 16 (Travel Rule) and the 2021 Updated Guidance on Virtual Assets.
  • Darknet-market intelligence — curated wallet sets from Hydra, AlphaBay successors, Mega, Solaris and others.
  • On-chain heuristics — mixer entry detection (Tornado Cash, CoinJoin, ChipMixer), peel-chain detection, dust-attack tracing.
  • Exchange blacklists — publicly disclosed freezes from Binance, OKX, Bitstamp, Kraken and others.

How the engine works

For each address we run four stages:

  • 1. Format detection. The wallet is classified into its chain by address shape (legacy/segwit BTC, EVM hex, TRON base58 with T-prefix, Solana base58 32–44 chars, etc.).
  • 2. Direct match. The address is looked up against every sanctions and darknet list described above. A direct hit produces an immediate 95–100 score.
  • 3. Counterparty trace. For non-matching addresses we walk the transaction graph up to four hops in either direction and score exposure based on the proximity, frequency and amount.
  • 4. Heuristic flags. Behaviour patterns (mixer entries, peel-chain output, dust attacks, honeypot deployment) add or subtract weighted points from the score.

Meet the team

CryptoAML.ai was founded in 2024 by Alex Morgan, a blockchain compliance analyst with 7+ years in financial-crime investigations and OFAC/FATF screenings. We are a lean team of two analysts and one engineer. Methodology updates are published publicly so clients can audit our reasoning.

Telegram bot partnership

Full reports (counterparty graphs, downloadable PDF, multi-hop trace) are delivered through @cryptoamlscan_bot. The same engine powers the website and the bot — only the depth of the response differs.
